  1. Construction of high-voltage transmission line in Otres development project to begin on 21 June

The Electricite du Cambodge will begin the construction in Otres, Sihanoukville province on 21st June. The transmission line will be 40metre wide connecting Koki village of Prey Nob district and Village 6 of Sihanoukville downtown. Provincial administration urged the property and landowners from above location to cooperate with officers.

  1. Three New Eco-Tourism destinations proposed for Koh Kong province

Private firms have proposed to invest in three ecotourism sites on 30 hectares in Khemara Phoumin city and Mondul Seima districts in Koh Kong province. Koh Kong Deputy Provincial Governor Ouk Pheaktra said during a site inspection on Monday 14 June that the three proposals are currently being reviewed and studied.

  1. Real Estate sector turning away from foreign buyers, survey finds

“We were seeing interest picking up in the office market and even residential. What we have witnessed in the second quarter with the lockdown and restrictions is a more fragile market. Buyers and tenants are in a stronger position, it’s more apparent they have more bargaining power, so we’ve seen a swing to them”, says James Hodge, director of international real estate services firm CBRE Cambodia.

  1. Covid-19 vaccination drives in Cambodia, looking forward to obtaining herd immunity by November

A total of 3,000,264 people in Cambodia have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic, or 30% of the 10 million people scheduled for vaccination on June 14, well on its way towards its target of 10 million, according to Ministry of Health spokeswoman Or Vandine.

Cambodian delegation will attend the first virtual 51st SEAMEO hosted by Singapore on June 17. The event organized by the Ministry of Education, Singapore in cooperation with others 11 SEAMEO member countries with a total of 200 participants.
