The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) is planning to build Cambodia’s first asphalt concrete (AC) factory at the
Kampot and Kep provincial border within this year, aiming to produce its own AC for road construction usage.

  1. Cambodia, China to ink MoU on telecoms, culture cooperation

Cambodia and China are set to sign two cooperation documents next week in the fields of telecommunications and culture,
according to a press statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on June 4.

  1. Swiss gov’t pledges $58M development grant over 2022-25

The Swiss government on June 3 pledged up to $58 million in grants for the Kingdom’s development over the next four years. The pledge was made during an online meeting between the Cambodian-Swiss governmental consultation on the draft Swiss Mekong Region Cooperation Programme 2022-2025.

  1. National Road 146B-148 to be completed by August 2022

Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport Chanthol inspected the progress of the construction of National Road 146B and National Road 148, both of which are scheduled to be completed by August, 2022. The project is being built by the Branch of China Road and Bridge Cooperation in Cambodia under the Road Infrastructure Development Project in Sihanoukville.

Hong Lai Huat (HLG) group will be disposing its entire equity interest in HLH Agri R&D for the price of approximately US$3.6million,

  1. Construction of First PP-SHV Expressway Interchange Complete

The first interchange of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway project has been completed, while the overall progress of the entire expressway has reached about 50% to 60% completion. Worth over US$2 billion, the expressway is being built by Cambodian PPSHV Expressway Co., Ltd. and is scheduled to be complete by May 2023

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued new risk assessment levels for travel during the Covid-19 pandemic,
listing Cambodia as Level 2 which means “moderate” risk on its Travel Health Notice (THN).
