Yes they can. However, the type of real estate overseas buyers can purchase is limited to co-owned buildings, which include condominiums and strata-title commercial space, as well as purchases via long-leases of upto 50 years.
To own land or a ‘freehold’ property the buyers must have atleast a 51% Cambodian shareholding. Buyers of ‘freehold’ properties commonly use a range of different structures to make their purchase.
