  1. International air visitor arrivals dip 93%

The number of foreign tourists entering Cambodia through the Kingdom’s three international airports witnessed a sharp 92.5 per cent year-on-year decline in the first seven months of this year, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration will build two new roads connecting NR6A to the Win-Win Boulevard, which will be used as the main travel routes to and from the newly built Morodok Techo stadium during the 2023 SEA Games.

7. SHV deep seaport construction delays to 2022     

The construction of the first phase of deep-water port terminal of listed Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) has been delayed till next year and is set to complete by 2025. The deep port terminal of 350 metre long can handle container vessels of 13 metre deep, and medium-sized vessels with a capacity of 5,000 TEUs.

  1. Labor unions proposed $214 minimum wage

An opening meeting was held ahead of negotiations next week between the Garment Manufacturers Association of Cambodia (GMAC) and trade unions regarding minimum wage for workers. Workers currently earn $192 per month. Unions are seeking an increase to $214.20, according to Cambodian Trade Unions Coalitions President Far Saly

The National Assembly (NA) has approved three draft laws focusing on boosting economic growth and trade in both national and international frameworks. The three draft laws include the new Investment Law, the Law on Regional Cooperation Economic Partnership Agreement, and the Law on Cambodia-China Bilateral Free Trade Agreement.
