  1. SSEZ imports, exports hit $1.77B in Jan-Oct

The value of imports and exports passing through the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) reached $1.767 billion in the first 10 months of 2021, marking a 38.81 per cent year-on-year uptick from $1.273 billion, the operator reported on November 17.

2. ADB to aid three-city infrastructure plan

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $180 million loan to help three Cambodian towns improve urban infrastructure and boost economic competitiveness.

3. Amro projects 2.8% economic growth in KH for 2021

Singapore-based ASEAN Plus Three Macroeconomic Research Office (Amro) has forecast Cambodia’s economic growth at a moderate 2.8 per cent in 2021, tempered by uneven growth across sectors.

4. PM projects next year economic growth at over 5%

The head of the Royal Government of Cambodia has forecast that the Cambodian economy will grow by more than 5% by 2022 as economic activity begins to recover after the government decided to open the country while the state continues to focus on building infrastructure.

5. Gov’t to spend US$2.3B on infrastructure

Prime Minister Hun Sen has announced that Cambodia wants to spend at least $ 2.3 billion directly on the national budget to build infrastructure across the country, including at least $100 million to build bridges across rivers and streams across the country, while the rest will build roads and bridges.

6. Project to build 2,700-m high beach in Kep province officially opened

The National Committee for Coastal Management and Development of Cambodia (CCHR) has officially opened the construction site of a high-level public beach resort located in Phum Thmey, Sangkat Prey Thom, Kep City. This is according to the provincial administration on November 22, 2021.

7. Gov’t to build an $80M international hospital in Kob Srov

The Cambodian government has decided to build the first international medical university hospital in Kob Srov, worth $80 million, to serve students and provide medical services to the people.

8. OCIC, CAIC sell $20M worth of bonds to FTB for new airport

Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd (CAIC) has issued a $20 million guarantor to FTB to raise capital for the construction and development of a new Phnom Penh airport project in Kandal province.
