1. Tesco Lotus Supermarket mulls entering KH market
Thailand’s Tesco Lotus has expressed interest in opening its first store in Cambodia, while the company is currently looking for a plot of land in Phnom Penh to build the mall, according to the Cambodian Business Council in Thailand.

2. Cambodia requests WB to initiate EV project in Siem Reap
Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has requested the World Bank (WB) to help encourage the usage of electric vehicles in Siem Reap, while also asking this international body to implement three other projects to help enhance the transport infrastructure system in Cambodia.

3. China handed over Morodok Techo Stadium and signed 6 new agreements
China has officially handed over the $150 million Morodok Techo Stadium to Cambodia and signed six new agreements providing Cambodia with over $270 million more in financial assistance.

4. $1.37bn worth of imports and exports pass through SSEZ
The value of imports and exports passing through the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) reached $1.373 billion in the first eight months of 2021, an increase of 44.37 per cent year-on-year, the operator reported.

5. Ford Motor assembly plant set for Pursat

6. Huawei Cloud becomes KH’s first authorized cloud service provider
Huawei Cambodia obtained the “Consulting and Technical Service Certification License” officially authorized by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia, becoming the first and only authorized cloud service provider in Cambodia.
