1.  Secretary of State warns on Delta variant: The public health tragedy may be imminent and crossing the red line

The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, has warned about the dangers of a new type of mutation virus, as 75 people have been diagnosed with the Delta Variant of Covid. The prevention measures shall take place to avoid the large-community outbreak.

2.  Kompong Chhnang to benefit from National Road 5 construction

Kampong Chhnang governor Sun Sovannarith expects the National Road No. 5 improvement project will offer the beneficial growth for tourism into the province.

3. ADB-funded USD12 million Pursat infrastructure development project: over 64% complete.

The two projects include the sewage system development and wastewater treatment plan (62% complete), and Solid waste landfill (67% complete), the scheduled for completion will be in 2022.

4. New Eco-tourism development project proposed for Prey Nob district of Sihanoukville province

A private firm Eco Beach development has proposed the project plan including the construction of bungalows, sightseeing ports, natural crab farms, boat rides, and tourist markets.

5. Seven Provinces targeted for Eco-Tourism Sustainability

The landscape sustainability projects to increase eco-tourism will be in Kampong Speu, Koh Kong, Kampong Chnnang, Pursat, Battambang, Siem Reap, and Kampong Thom, according to the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Rural Development.

6. Six Logistics centres planned South of Cambodian border

The Vietnamese Mekong Delta of Long An plane to set up the six facilities including three communes in Ben Luc district, total area of 110ha, and others along the Cambodian borders of Southern key economic region Long An, such as Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, and Bavet town.

7. Government approves 4 new investment projects worth over USD51 million

Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) gives permits to private firms to invest in building new four factories, a total budget of approximately USD51.1 million in the Kandal and Takeo provinces.

8. Cathay Pacific to resume flights to Cambodia after 16-month hiatus

Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd will operate three inbound and outbound flights between Phnom Penh and Hong Kong on July 30, Aug 13, and Aug 27.

9. H&M to open the first store in Cambodia next year

The Swedish multinational clothing retail company namely, Hennes & Mauritz AB announced to open its first store but did not disclose the specific date and location. H&M is already present in two ASEAN countries with 11 stores in Vietnam and 43 in Thailand.
